Interactive Engineer
Archetype is looking for highly creative, flexible, and skilled Interactive Engineers to be part of our dynamic team. Applicants must have experience with .NET/C#, Java, AS3, or comparable OOP language along with knowledge and understanding of Interactive Software development.
As an Interactive Engineer at Archetype, you will be focused primarily on Adobe- and Microsoft-related technologies and rich interactive application development for web, mobile, desktop and other scenarios. This role often requires integrating and/or visualizing large amounts of data and connecting to backend data services.
Primary Responsibilities
- Rapid Rich Internet Application development and iteration.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Work with designers and other engineers to create advanced application interfaces in Silverlight, Flash, HTML 5, and AJAX, including the implementation of advanced transitions and animations.
- Create and implement web services into our Rich Internet Applications.
- Quickly develop proofs of concepts.
- Develop industry standard code and use best practices in development.
- Take technical “ownership” for your functional areas.
- Commitment to good development practices, such as source control, bug tracking, OOD, and documentation.
- Work closely with QA to ensure effective development of acceptance criteria and functional tests.
Job Qualifications
Required
- Experience in object-oriented software development.
- Demonstrable coding experience in C#/.NET and/or ActionScript.
- Strong understanding of Web technologies (XML, REST, AJAX, Etc.).
- Experience in developing relational database systems (writing efficient SQL queries) using enterprise level databases such as MS SQL, Oracle, or Sybase.
- Recent experience with and interest in developing Rich Client code using Flash, Silverlight and mobile platforms.
- Willingness to experiment and develop with pre-release development tools including alpha/beta builds.
- Demonstrable ability to generate creative/innovative software solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, especially with regards to complex technical scenarios, project management and client interactions.
- Need to be an independently minded problem solver and have the ability to deliver creative solutions with very little supervision.

Senior Interactive Designer
Under the direction of the Chief Creative Officer, Archetype’s Interactive Designers work with the entire production team on client-facing and internal interactive web, desktop and mobile products and projects. Archetype’s Interactive Designers create unique applications and user-centric experiences that incorporate a high level of interactivity and visual aesthetic. A strong understanding of information architecture user experience design is key to this position. A background in animation and/or motion graphics is also desirable.
Archetype’s Interactive Designers utilize a wide variety of tools and technologies to create user flows, wireframes, mood boards, visual design comps, motion prototypes, and production-ready assets.
Experience in coding is also a plus (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AS3, PHP, and others).
Primary Responsibilities
- Work closely with creative and engineering teams to design concepts and prototypes using HTML, Flash, Silverlight, and other interactive platforms.
- Create high quality designs (wireframes, mood boards, comps, animations, assets) for use in interactive applications, websites and games.
- Present design materials to internal and external stakeholders, taking feedback and direction as needed.
- Ensure all assigned designs and design-related materials are of the highest visual and technical quality, meeting or exceeding company and client standards.
- Work within client and internal milestones and timelines.

- Passionate about digital and social media, with an in-depth understanding of next generation tools involving apps, mobile, etc.
- Experience working closely with other interactive designers and engineers as part of a production team.
- Portfolio that speaks for itself, showing top quality web design and reflecting 5+ years of interactive/software experience.
- Working knowledge of Flash and/or Silverlight animation, and experience with motion design.
- Ability to translate design concepts into interactive interfaces and applications.
- A strong aesthetic sense and excellent attention to detail.
- Independently minded problem solver with the ability to deliver creative solutions with very little supervision when required, yet also follow detailed instruction when required.

Producer, Interactive Software
Archetype’s Producers coordinate and manage scheduling efforts and resource planning across multiple projects, track and report status, and facilitate risk identification and escalation. The Producer will serve as the primary point of contact for both internal resources and external clients, managing project-related communication and facilitating project-related meetings on a daily and weekly basis.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as producer for several concurrent projects.
- Create project schedules, outlining tasks, milestones and dependencies that balance client expectations and internal resource availability.
- Assist producers in vetting client requests with internal production team and against project requirements and scope documents.
- Coordinate and facilitate daily and weekly meetings with clients, capturing and tracking notes and action items.
- Coordinate the activities of internal project personnel to ensure that all projects progress on schedule, in scope and within budget.
- Communicate daily and weekly project status to management and production team.
- Facilitate weekly internal project review meetings, setting agendas and tracking issues and action items.
- Assist in the development of team and process standards, tools and best practices.
- Help ensure continuity across projects by working with sales and marketing teams at the beginning and end of projects.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with at least three years related experience in software development, especially in web-related technologies
- Experience managing or coordinating different aspects of complex software design and development projects with multi-month timelines.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience managing scope, schedule, issues, risks, and resources in support of large- scale software design and development projects.
- Experience with project management tracking tools, process, and systems.
- Detail-oriented with a “can do” attitude.
Project Coordinator, Interactive Software
Under the direction of Archetype’s producers and production manager, the Project Coordinator will facilitate scheduling and resource planning across multiple projects. The Project Coordinator will track and report to the production and management team the status of multiple projects, as well as identify and help resolve risks within each project. The Project Coordinator also serve as a point of contact for both internal resources and external clients.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create or assist in the creation of project schedules, outlining tasks, milestones and dependencies that balance client expectations and internal resource availability.
- Monitor scope and development time on multiple projects and identify risks and remove roadblocks.
- Coordinate and facilitate daily and weekly project meetings with clients, capturing and tracking notes and action items.
- Assist producers in the coordination of internal project personnel to ensure that all projects progress on schedule, in scope and within budget.
- Assist producers in communicating daily and weekly project status to management and production team, ensuring that information is concise and meaningful.
- Assist producers and production team in acting as a liaison between clients and internal resources.
- Assist producers in vetting client requests with internal production team and against project requirements and scope documents.
